We have been collecting recipes for over 60 years.  Since neither of us have allergies and we like almost everything, our recipes are all over the map - literally.  We do have preferences though, so you'll find a lot of recipes from Italy but few from Eastern Europe or Africa.  In the last few years we have been leaning more toward the complex flavours of Asian food, but still leave lots of dinners for the rest of the world.

Everyone who learns to cook starts by reading recipes.  We find them and if they sound good, we follow them and taste the results.  If we would like to have them again, we "collect" the recipe.  I don't know anyone who cooks who doesn't have a collection of recipes.

I have no idea how many recipes we've tried in our lives, but we keep any that we think are good enough to make again, so we have several thousand recipes in our collection.Those that we rate with 5 stars are published in MacMenu Online, which is currently about 350 recipes.

We use a commercial software program called "Paprika" to manage our recipes and recommend that app as a must have if you're a cook.
